Drawings skills are a handy tool to have when constructing working drawings for your product. You can draw these by hand or using ICT Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages to help you. The most common CAD packages used in schools are 2D Design tools and ProdesktopThe drawing techniques which you can use for your folio are 2D drawings, 3D drawings as well as making models and photographing them. It is a good idea to practice drawing by hand as well as using CAD so that you have a good understanding of how it works. This will improve your ability to think three dimensionally and picture designs in your mind at the development stage of designing. TECHNICAL DRAWING There two types of drawing used in schools; Pictorial: Three Dimensional Orthographic: Two Dimensional PICTORIAL Oblique Projections Exploded Isometric Projections These can be used to visualise finished products or show how the parts fit together to make a finished product.
