Situation analysis and Problem IdentificationSITUATION ANALYSIS (In industry this is sometimes called the Client Brief). Describe the context / environment you are designing for to give as much information to the designer as possible. Explain the area that requires design intervention using pictures and / or diagramsCreate a planometric view of the likely location of your product, including dimensions. Make notes, using photos/sketches to illustrate, on how the location of the product will affect its design. PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION Use the information gained through situation analysis to list problems with the current design:
improvements could be made (design solutions) to the problems you have found. Prioritise these areas of potential change and identify those that can be solved within the given timescale. It may help to analyse similar products to identify areas of design that work and those that can be improved.
